Soldiers of Special Forces at MESKO S.A.
Visit of the Commander of the Special Forces Component, Major General Sławomir Drumowicz at the MESKO S.A. stand during the Dragon-21 Maneuvers resulted in the organization of a dynamic ammunition show for the Special Forces.
The purpose of the show which took place on October 20-21, 2021 with the participation of invited guests was to test functionality of the MESKO S.A. products.
One of the highlights of the event was the weapon exhibition presented by Fabryka Broni “Łucznik” Radom Sp. z o.o. and Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów, which are, as well as MESKO S.A., a part of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A.
Stands of invited Companies combined with a wide range of Ammunition produced by MESKO S.A. were excellent opportunity not only to present many types of weapons and technical parameters of ammunition, but also the possibility of their practical testing in different variants at the ranges from 100 to 800 m (using MESKO’s 5,56x45; 7,62x51; 12,7x99 mm ammunition).
Shooting was also carried out with the use of paper shooting targets and steel gong shooting targets. Additionally, at a distance of 200 m, an armor-plate with a thickness of 7 mm was used, which was fired upon by Armor-Piercing ammunition with increased efficiency AP2.
The representatives of the Special Forces were very impressed with the penetration effect on armor-glass and armor-plates, mainly by the AP2 and AP6 small caliber ammunition.
5,56x45 mm armor-piercing ammunition AP 6 is designed for fighting armored vehicles, field barricades and penetrating armor. Armor- piercing projectiles pierce through an armor plate, 7mm thick ac. MIL-A-12560H and 341-388HB hardness, from the distance of 100m, and an aluminum plate (witness) 1 mm thick, placed in parallel to each other within the distance of 0,3 m (the angle of penetration 0°) no less than 80% (counted from the number of target hits).
7,62x51 mm armor-piercing ammunition is destined for fighting lightly
and medium armored vehicles, field barricades and penetrating armor. Projectiles pierce through 7 mm thick armor-plate at a distance of 550 m and 15 mm armor-plate at a distance of 100 m.
The dynamic presentation confirmed high quality and functionality of all of the presented products.
A two-day visit was not only a professional exchange of insights, many interesting questions and the opportunity to show a wide range of production potential, but also conversations that can be the beginning of an interesting cooperation.
